Benjamin Kobler

Benjamin Kobler has made a name for himself as a sought-after interpreter of works by Lachenmann, Ligeti, Messiaen and Stockhausen and as a passionate advocate of contemporary music. He performs as a soloist in the USA, Asia, South America and the major concert halls of Europe.He is accompanied by renowned orchestras and renowned conductors such as Myung-Whun Chung, Vladimir Jurowski and Sir Simon Rattle. He has been a permanent member of the Musikfabrik since 2007. He enjoys commissioning solo piano works; a new etude by Unsuk Chin and a piano piece (“Nuss”) by Enno Poppe are currently awaiting their premieres. His most influential teachers include Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Peter Eötvös and Carmen Piazzini, with whom he studied at the Hochschule für Musik Köln and the Conservatoire de Paris. Benjamin Kobler worked intensively with Karlheinz Stockhausen for ten years and is the dedicatee of his last piano solo pieces (“NATÜRLICHE DAUERN”). In addition to teaching at the Stockhausen courses, he also passes on his experience as a lecturer in contemporary piano music at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf.

Hannah Weirich

Hannah Weirich studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart with Ingolf Turban and attended masterclasses with Franco Gulli, Igor Ozim and Dénes Zsigmondy. Hannah Weirich has been performing worldwide since 1992 with her piano trio Trio Fridegk, with whom she has won several national and international prizes. In 2005, she became a member of Ensemble Musikfabrik, with whom she performs at national and international festivals and collaborates with renowned artists such as Milica Djordjević, Rebecca Saunders, Lisa Streich, Mauricio Kagel, György Kurtág, Helmut Lachenmann and Enno Poppe. Several solo works dedicated to Hannah Weirich have been written, among others, by Sarah Nemtsov, Rebecca Saunders, Lisa Streich, Georges Aperghis, Francesco Filidei and Enno Poppe. From 2011 to 2022, Hannah Weirich formed a duo with pianist Ulrich Löffler, which was primarily dedicated to music of the 20th and 21st centuries. In 2020, the duo initiated the premiere series „Zurück in der Zukunft“ (Back to the Future), for which new works for violin/e-violin and analogue keyboards were created. Hannah Weirich performed as a soloist with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and the Krakow State Philharmonic Orchestra, among others, and works with Ensemble Resonanz, Ensemble Ascolta, the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, the Asasello Quartet and the jazz formation Shreefpunk. In addition to her concert activities, Hannah Weirich also works as a coach with the National Youth Orchestra and Studio Musikfabrik, the youth ensemble for new music of the Landesmusikrat NRW.

Nikla Seidl

Niklas Seidl born in 1983, studied composition, cello and baroque cello in Leipzig, Vienna and Cologne. His interest in contemporary music has led him to regular guest appearances as a cellist with ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Ensemble musikFabrik, Stuttgarter Vocalsolisten, Ensemble ascolta, ensemble SMASH, ensemble SurPlus, Thürmchen Ensemble, SCHOLA Heidelberg, mam:manufaktur für aktuelle Musik, the Hessischer Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra and various chamber music and solo concerts. He is a founding member of the chamber music ensemble hand werk in Cologne and leise dröhnung in Frankfurt. He is also a permanent member of ensemble mosaik, where he is currently the artistic director. Since 2005 he has been working on audio pieces and instrumental compositions, which have been performed at many festivals and concert series. Lives as a composer and cellist in Cologne/Berlin and also takes photos from time to time. Together with the artist Paulette Penje, he has created various film works in the duo KOMBÜSE.
