Riccardo Terrin

Trumpeter

Born near Venice, he obtained the diploma at the “A. Steffani” Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto with good grades and the Second Level Diploma with full marks at the Conservatory “G. Frescobaldi” of Ferrara. Subsequently he passes the selection for the “TFA” of musical instrument at the Conservatory “L. Marenzio” in Brescia where he attended the two-year course and the TFA qualifying to teach with honors.

Since 1996 he has attended various Masterclasses held by various world-renowned teachers, such as P. Thibaud, S. Burns, M. Pierobon, J. Lindemann, A. Vizzutti, S. Nakariakov. He has always played in the classical field with various orchestras and chamber groups, with the Frenico Brass Quintet; he performs also with big bands, jazz groups, salsa, rock, funk, ska, reggae, live productions of musicals and cover bands of various authors.

From 1999 to 2014 he taught trumpet in Music Schools and Musical Institutes and carried out Musical Propedeutic Projects at the Primary Schools of the Venetian and Paduan areas. In the summer of 2011 he was called by the Palestine Youth Orchestra, as part of an international orchestral workshop, organized from the “Edward Said National Conservatory of Music”. For some years he animates Piazza San Marco in Venice during the Christmas holidays and participates in the closing of the Venice Carnival aboard a gondola as part of the Vogata del Silenzio. Through an audition he joined the orchestra of the Puccini Festival.

Since August 2012 he lives in Trento and he teaches instrument and musical education at various public and private schools in the Province of Trento and in Bolzano.

Since 2013 he joined the MotoContrario Ensemble, a collective of musicians and composers who studies and investigates the contemporary and 20th century repertoire. From October 2014 he directs the Pinetano Folk Band Group of Baselga di Piné and attends the conducting course organized by the Wind Orchestra of the Province of Vicenza under the guidance of Maestro Andrea Loss. During the summers of 2014 and 2015 he participates in the Musical Summer Campus organized by the Federation of Wind Bands of Trento as a brass teacher.
